Jamie and I are now separate contributors on this blog here. That is he can post under his own name, and me under my own.

Jamie was supposed to ride this morning but it's another gray day in Boulder. Yesterday it was so foggy you couldn't even see the mountains. Jamie says it felt like we were living somewhere boring. Today, the mountains are peaking out a bit from that dense fog and this weekend is supposed to be really nice.

Blanche kept us up all night chewing on various aspects of our bedroom. She likes to sit in the the window regardless of if the blinds are down or not. She also thinks our new bed is a scratching post. Jamie kicked her out at one point but only to spend the next few hours listening to her chew on the bottom of the door trying to get back in. Needless to say, I didn't get up for yoga this morning.

Class last night was really great. I am slowly starting to settle back into my practice. There are some things that are different-- that I still need to learn-- like the Anusara Invocation. It's really beautiful to sit and listen for once...but I'd like to be able to chant along. The benefit to starting over in a new studio is that it's really humbling and just gives you that extra reminder of all the things you still don't know or haven't experienced in your body. I think the reason I got so into yoga was that aspect of constantly learning, constantly experiencing new things.

The Anusara Invocation

Om Namah Shivaya Gurave
Saccidananda Murtaye
Nischprapanchaya Shantaya
Niralambaya Tejase

I bow to the goodness within myself, known as Lord Shiva, who is the true teacher.
This essence inside takes the form of truth, consciousness, and bliss
Always present and full of peace,
this essence inside is completely free, and sparkles with a divine luster.
