Leah and I headed to Hall Ranch for a ride tonight. The Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance was offering a girls only training session on the basics of mountain biking. Leah has been out only a handful of times, so we thought this would be good for her. While she stayed back with the group, I headed off on a 2 hour, 12 mile ride. As with most Colorado trails, you always start with the ascent. It was pretty grueling, especially once I hit the rock gardens. To put this nicely, the rock gardens back east are, errr, nothing compared to what I encountered tonight. I got through most, but I did have to hike a few parts. Once I got to the top, I headed back down on a really fast, rocky descent.
Leah has some things to learn. They showed her how to trackstand and basically be able to control your bike using the brakes. She will get there, I know she will.
