I only had one rolfing session this week-- on tuesday afternoon. And I think that it loosened me up so much I had some space in there for some CorePower Yoga (I went yesterday and the day before). I am feeling pretty sore today from a combination of the exercise and the new settling that my body is doing. I am also experiencing some emotional sort of stuff that I think is related to the release in my shoulders. I'm a little raw this week I guess.
The focus of this week's session was more about the core- most specifically how our legs sort of hang from our neck. The session focused on the psoas of the hips and the "psoas of the neck".
My practitioner also did some work on my arms-- because rolfers see the body in cylinders and the rotation of the arms relates to the rotation of the core muscles-- which was really cool. I have never felt my shoulders and arms so loose. I hold my right arm especially and normally when I had walked before this session my arms didn't move at all-- but now I'm a loosey-goosey
I'm joining the ladies BMA ride tonight. They are breaking up into groups and doing some skill building kinds of stuff which will be great-- I really do want to get better on my bike and flying over rocks and tree stumps.
